System V1.3.0 beta now available for testing

Hello beta testers,

We have a maintenance update available for your testing and feedback. V1.3.0 has:

  • EasySetup is now included by default. You can run it manually, or it will start the first time after a factory reset, helping you select the language, time zone, pair the remote and setup WiFi.
  • the projector now autofocuses on every boot
  • the Launcher has been updated to 1.8.3 with updated Philips typeface and bug fixes
  • the recent bug with black screen after updating the launcher should be fixed
  • translation improvements, particularly with app update feature of the home screen
  • internal stability improvements

If we don’t hear any showstopper issues, we plan a general release this week. Thanks for your feedback!

It’s nice to finally see EasySetup which I still personally think should have been prioritized and been there since the start.

As for the autofocus on boot, can you disable this? Because I aasume that there are people who already set the focus perfectly and doesn’t move their projector.

+1 on the possibility to disable autofocus on boot. I agree it’s a nice feature most of the time but there are times when you want to avoid it.

There is such an option in the Image settings page:

Updated from 1.2.4 to 1.3.0. I didn’t use the PPM too much yet but no new issues detected so far.
