Shipping to India

No… still with customs. All I get is an email daily with the below text:

Dear Sir,

Documents is submitted to Customs Superintendent Systems for review and clearance. We are trying to get it done on earliest.

:frowning: I have stopped checking completely. I have been occupied otherwise from last few days also so not getting any time.

My new fear is that they dont open it up and ruin it.

Latest update from DHL. All imported items from specific places have been kept on hold this includes HONG KONG. Not sure if its the same update for everyone from DHL… :dizzy_face:

Similar message I got:

Shipment is from HKG, Singapore and China region are pending for clearance at Customs end. We will be able to provide update once we receive any outcome or update on this from Customs.

Oh no sorry to hear, the same happened with another package i ordered from alibaba a month back, but its worth just 2k. So i am not worried about that.

I have been asking Philips many times in various places, but still no answer.
Who should I contact and how should I contact them?
I was contacted by Backer kit for tracking on May 30th, but I still can’t search for packages with that DHL tracking number.
I was contacted on June 10th that my passport number was needed to prepare documents for import/export of luggage, but I was replied on the same day, but nothing happened after that.

I have been inquiring many times since then, but I have not received any reply.

I currently have a delivery location in India, but due to a COVID-19 issue I may return to my home country of Japan.
If you do not receive your shipment in India within 2 weeks, you will need to change the shipping destination.

Please contact me as soon as you see this message.

A friend of mine from customs said it might take fews months to sort this out. So @IvoGrijt @Philips_Support_N @Philips_Support_N plz find another way to send to remaining backers from India.

This is what DHL requires from me. Can you share the Purchase Order or Value Enhancement letter?


Please be informed that the customs has raised a query to provide value proof for clearance, kindly provide us the below mentioned documents for clearance

Purchase order
Bank remittance copy
Value enhancement letter

Or if there is not value proof mentioned above, kindly provide us the letter addressing to deputy comissioner of customs that, there is no value proof since shipment is on FOC basis and informing to enhance the value and clear the shipment


this is news to me…they were delaying it because of political reasons but stopping hasnt happened.
Only way past this is to show point of origin as not china or clearly show mother company not from china

I am not sure if anyone passing through Delhi got it yet. I keep getting a delay due to covid email every 2 days and more documents required every 4-5 days.

If the customs have opened it… I might never get it :frowning:

Can I have a show of hands of who still has a package with DHL India / Indian customs, and why?
I got the following not-so-clear message from the forwarder today:

For Indian customers, we all need him to assist DHL in customs clearance, otherwise the goods will not be delivered and the products will be destroyed if they are detained for too long

It seems to me that the customs agent (via DHL) is completely inept as they keep going in circles with customs. I have responded to all emails almost immediately. They are not ready to call or talk to us either.

20 June:
Subject shipment has landed in Delhi Courier mode. Customs has detained this shipment for value evidence proof.
Please provide the online purchase proof/payment proof of this shipment.

25 June:
Shipment is detained for value evidence proof by Customs. Kindly provide the payment proof for clearance.

3 Jul:
Customs has asked to show the bank remittance copy. Kindly share.

Other days:
Please be informed that shipment is under clearance process but due to Covid guidelines, we are working with limited custom officers & internal staffs hence there is pendency & causing delay in clearance process.

I just got an update from DHL. The value of the product was enhanced and I was asked to pay the customs duty, which came to 9323 ₹.

Things to do… Please share a letter or a mail consent to your DHL person stating that you agree for the customs to appraise the product and proceed with the clearance. After that the product goes for all the scanning process and the value is determined.

I had shared that consent on June 23 already.

Can you please share your tracking number if possible. I will reply to the agent with your case as an example. Hopefully that will help expedite.
